ORGANIZATION OF THE RESEARCH CHAIR
In order to give an international scope to its work and to allow companies to take advantage of the results of its research and training projects, the Research Chair brings together a multi-professional team recognized for the quality of its research, training and publications in the field of disability, employment and health at work.
The Research Chair has a nationally recognized expert
Karine Gros, Senior Lecturer and Research Director, Knight of the French Legion of Honor.
The Research Chair is directed by Karine Gros, Senior Lecturer, Research Director, Human and Social Sciences – Life Sciences Doctor of Literature, Associate in Literature, in charge of the Disability Master Plan at UPEC since 2019.
For more than ten years, Karine Gros has been developing research projects on the employment of disabled persons and has published reference works with Editions Législatives (Dalloz Group).
She is the scientific director of the DU Disability Advisor for the private sector, public services and associations and of the DU Supported Employment Advisor (opening November 2023).
In 2020, Karine Gros was appointed as a Qualified Person to the National Consultative Council for the Disabled (CNCPH) and to the Commission for the Integration of the Disabled (CIPH) of the city of Créteil.
On July 14, 2022, the Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honor named Karine Gros a Knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honor for her research, training and publications in the field of disability.
Creating the Disability, Employment and Health at work Research Chair was my priority scientific challenge when I prepared my Habilitation to Direct Research. Bringing together a multi-professional team of experts, multi-disciplinary research laboratories and involved patrons seemed to me to be a guarantee of innovation, success and progress; working for and with people with disabilities will always be our ambition.
Karine Gros, Senior Lecturer and Research Director
A prestigious patron
Marie-Anne Montchamp, former minister for people with disabilities
The Research Chair is supported by a prestigious patron in the person of Marie-Anne Montchamp, currently CEO of the OCIRP (Organisme Commun des Institutions de Rente et de Prévoyance), former Minister at the origin of the Law n° 2005-102 of February 11, 2005 for equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship of disabled people.
It is an honor to be the patron of the Disability, Employment and Health at work Research Chair and to support the promise it holds: to advance action research and to be part of our collective ambition of equal rights, opportunities, participation and citizenship for all, in a resolutely inclusive society.
Marie-Anne Montchamp, former minister for people with disabilities

A Projects and Partnerships advisor
Thierry Michels, former deputy of the Bas-Rhin
The national valorization of the work is supported by the Research Chair’s Projects and Partnerships Advisor, Thierry Michels, former Member of Parliament for the Bas-Rhin, member of the Social Affairs Commission and the European Affairs Commission and co-author, with Carine Radian, of the report “Towards full citizenship for people with disabilities – Representation and participation in the construction of public policies for an inclusive society” submitted to the Prime Minister in 2019.
As a Deputy between 2017 and 2022 and a member of the Social Affairs Committee, I was very involved in the issue of disability. At the end of my mandate, it seemed obvious to me to continue this commitment. Within the Disability, Employment and Health at work Research Chair, I am happy to contribute my skills acquired during my professional career and my experience as an elected official. Working with professionals in the field and motivated and innovative academics for a more inclusive society and world of work, for and with our fellow citizens with disabilities, is for me a great source of satisfaction.
Thierry Michels, former deputy of the Bas-Rhin
